Bribery, Brownies and the Power of Intent
Ok so bribery is not necessarily a bad thing. I am in the south (Alabama) visiting my family. Today is the big Alabama and Auburn game, which is the big rivalry. In the south, the South Eastern Conference aka college football is the big thing and this game is no exception. In fact, this is THE biggest game in Alabama. All the stores (even Wal-Mart) close for the game, as do the local restaurants.
I am NOT a football fan at all. Even though I was a cheerleader in high school. But that was a long time ago, when I was in the south. Football is not in my vocabulary.
However, it is in my family's vocabulary. They are decked out in their Alabama red's and grays and ready to whoop it up. I come along for the ride and usually write or do Christmas shopping online or something else to entertain myself. Last year, My family wanted my intention. Knowing I can make things happen by moving energy, they wanted me to hold my hands up so the team would score. Sure enough, every time I held my hands up, either Alabama would score or Auburn would fumble. I was doing so well, my Aunt made brownies for me at half-time. They talked about all year how I won the game with my 'mojo'.
This year, game on again. They talked about my 'mojo' and how I needed to help win the game. Well for me to watch a game is a big deal. So I said, If brownies were involved, I could work something out. So last night, the night before the big day, my stepmother called and asked my cousin if she needed to get some stuff for brownies and my cousin said, it had already been taken care of. Thinking ahead. Very good. I come in and my aunt says there is a whole tray of brownies and you don't have to share!!!!!!!!!! SCORE!
So as the game went on, Auburn led 14-0. NOT GOOD. I tried to put my 'mojo' on and it was going in the wrong direction. I got up and ate one of my brownies and wham, Alabama scored. I held my hands up and they scored again. Tied at half-time 14-14. Second half, Auburn scored again. I was tired. I wanted to take a nap but they insisted they needed my 'mojo'. So I ate 1/2 of a brownie and Alabama scored a field goal and were now behind by 1. There was 2 minutes left in the game and Alabama was still behind by 1. My step mother and my aunt said, Hurry Eat some chocolate. I don't remember when the last time i had to be "forced" to eat chocolate, but OK. I ate the brownie and low and behold Alabama won the game in the last minute and half. Magic Brownies.
While there may be superstitions, the power of intent is very powerful. Ok, so we won a silly football game. If you can do that with the power of your mind. What else can you create?
Hey, I am 2 for 2 as far as my football winnings. I am willing to bet, on Alabama/Auburn day next year, a tray of brownies will be waiting and the family will expect the 'mojo' to run. At the end of the day, I got brownies and I was happy and they won the game and they were happy. Boom. All is well in the South (except for Auburn fans).
Remember, Power of thought and intention is a good thing, and if that doesn't work, bribery is a good thing!
