Language is the Access to Living Your Dreams

Here is an article I wrote for a magazine. I will let you know when it is published. Enjoy

This year is about living the life of your dreams. Well, you might say any year could be about living the life of your dreams. True, but the past has past and the future have not happened; so the time is really now.

Your dreams are yours to create. They have been given to you by the universe to fulfill. Why are you not fulfilling them? Mostly the programming we have had growing up or our own fears have taken over.

We have come to the conclusion that it is too risky to do what we love, we can’t make a living from it anyway, so why bother.

There are absolutely no limits to what we can create, how we can live our life and what we can build. Everything, every thought, every feeling, every emotion, every dream come from language. Our language is the access to having everything we want in life. Everything arises in language. Every experience is noted in language -- you are happy with an experience, sad with an experience, angry with an experience and so on. Language limits us but also allows us to create what we want. For example, the more you say “I can’t,” the more you believe it's true.
Instantly, you have created a limit. Similarly, the more you speak about what you want in life, the more you will draw it to you. Your language works together very well with the Law of Attraction and colors the world you live in.

We haphazardly use language without thinking all the time. It is like talking about the weather. Most of the time what we say to ourselves and others makes no difference to who you are, what you are about and what you are here for. It keeps you and the human race small and unfulfilled. If you eliminated your negative language and only spoke positively about things, your life would alter. This would mean letting go of your fearful speaking like your complaints, resentments, regrets and gossip. It would require you to be present in the moment to what you are creating in your speaking. It would also mean not swimming in a soup of negative thoughts but rather sunning yourself in the thoughts of bliss. It is a moment by moment choice.

You have over 98,000 thoughts a day and 98% of them you had yesterday and the day before. Fortunately, most of your thoughts are unconscious and passing. It is the ones you give your attention to that matter. What you give your attention to grows, and, I assure you, you only want to grow the things that matter and mean something to you. In moment of despair or upset, you may not have your focus on what matters to you, but the sooner you do, the more you become alive again.

All things and experiences that are happening around you are created in language. The more you focus on “why your life is not working out,” the more drama and detail you give to it, the more you will experience that it is not happening now, and never will. When you alter your language to match what you actually want or are creating, you will shift the energy around you, raise your vibration and create a space for magic to happen. Suddenly your dreams, your visions and your goals all become something you can see obtaining in the future.

This is an amazingly powerful tool that requires rigor and dedication to develop within yourself. Most of us have been programmed to believe that we can’t have what we want in life. But when you alter your speaking to generate a new belief system, things will fall into place as if by magic. It takes practice.

Once you realize that language is your ally, get clear on what you desire. Many of us do not know what we want and then complain that we don’t have it. Sitting quietly and meditating, journaling or using magazines to collage pictures of what you want are a great start. Another way is to ask your heart what it desires and then listen keenly. Your ego will try to tell you this will make no difference. Don’t listen to it. Really look at what you are passionate about or you were passionate about and have forgotten.

Allow your dreams to emerge, and they will. It could be making jewelry, moving to Hawaii, opening a business, traveling the world, anything. Once you have a clear idea, begin picturing how it would look. Describe it in detail as if you already have what you want. Describe how it looks, smells, sounds and feels. For a minimum of 5 minutes every day visualize your life with your dreams fulfilled. Notice the negative thoughts that may arise as you do this and shift your speaking to your picture of how it shall it be. Affirmations are another powerful tool that help you realize your dreams and are, also, based in language. Anything that you use to follow the words “I AM” are the most powerful words that you can use to get the universe’s attention. I AM powerful, I AM prosperous, I AM healthy and so on. Using affirmations is a brilliant way to be conscious and get your language in order.

Lastly, another access to realizing your dreams is sharing with other people what you are creating. The more you speak it out loud, the more your brain hears it as the truth, and then the universe complies. Be who you are, Live Loud and Proud Now. Your life is yours to live and your dreams are yours to fulfill. No one can squash those drea ms unless you let them! Go for it. Life begins now!
