Waiting For The Right Path
Tonight, I was invited to speak at a graduation in New Jersey and I was honored to be there. I spoke about having a positive attitude, focus and never giving up as key points to success. As I left, I was waiting for the PATH train in New Jersey. I am not familiar with the PATH train and it has been 6 years or so since I have ridden it.
So I am at the Exchange Place stop waiting for the PATH train to come so I can get to 33rd street in Manhattan. Five trains go by and I am waiting for the right PATH to show up. I didn't realize that I needed to take a train to Pavonia Newport and that the train would be the train to Hobokon. I kept looking for the sign that said Pavonia Newport and the train with Pavonia Newport never came. So I am sitting thinking about the speech I had just given, and looking at my own life and thinking, am I on the right path and asking for a sign. Funny, I was thinking am I on the right path, while waiting for the PATH.
I was getting exasperated, both at waiting for the train and wanting clarity if I was on the right path in my life. So a train pulls up, and I am waiting AGAIN, and the conductor says "Next Stop, Pavonia Newport". I jump up and run and get on the train.
I chuckled as I was waiting for the right PATH and it was in front of me the whole time. Then it dawned on me, I was asking If I was on the right path in my life and for a sign. Five trains later, It hit me. The right path was there all along, I just need to step aboard. The "sign" (Pavonia Newport) I was looking for, was not obvious but the train led me to my destination.
If that isn't enough of a sign, when I sat down, there was a white feather on the floor. The white feather is a sign from the angels that all is well and your prayers are being answered. As if by magic, the feather began circling as if it were in a tornado. There was no air blowing and no one else seemed to notice. I'll take it.
So when asking for a sign, look in front of your eyes. It is always there.
The right Path will always come, and it is always there. Trust and step aboard.
