A is for Adventure

As Promised, here are some pictures from our Bahamian "Adventure" (More to come). I am also taking another group in the summer. Watch for dates.

The word of the day is adventure. Adventure is an art. It is something that brings life to life and allows you to grow, learn and have fun in the process. Everything can be an adventure if you allow it.

Our Bahama trip was an adventure, to say the least, beginning from the day we left until we arrived back in NYC.

We experienced leaving bags in cabs and having to go back, only to arrive back at the airport before the flight left. We experienced being at a shark lab with live sharks. We even got to pet it. It is amazing that it feels nothing like you would expect. One way is smooth and the other is like sand paper.

We experienced being in 12 ft swells in the middle of the ocean. Think Perfect storm, without the rain. We got stuck on a sand bar. 4 times. We lost power on the boat (at night) so it was pitch dark. We had amazing swims with dolphins. I drove from Ft. Lauderdale to about 2 hours north of Tampa. ( I have not driven in 10 years and I am proud to say, not a scratch on me or the car).

We swam with wild manatees. We played a game called Mafia, where I ended up being Mafia, more than I wasn't. Go Figure.

Adventure isn't always like Indiana Jones, and it can be. Adventure is stated in the dictionary as:
1. an exciting or very unusual experience.
2. participation in exciting undertakings or enterprises: the spirit of adventure.
3. a bold, usually risky undertaking; hazardous action of uncertain outcome.
4. a commercial or financial speculation of any kind; venture.
5. Obsolete.
a. peril; danger; risk.
b. chance; fortune; luck

It is something that is created. Yazmine and I created adventures everyday. Everything was an adventure and we had fun. Even the simple things in life can be an adventure if you let it.

Having a sense of adventure makes life more interesting. Knowing that you can handle with ease and grace, what the universe gives you, is the first step.

Sometimes when life does not go the way you want, make an adventure out of it and see what happens. It is an effortless way to bring excitement to your life.

Challenge: Create a new adventure every day.

Go for it. Live life as an adventure waiting to happen.
